How do you maintain product safety during transportation?When transporting sugar, we follow the necessary procedures to comply with the Sanitary Transportation Laws according to FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act). Through the work of our Food Safety and Quality Assurance team, employees are trained to meet FSMA sanitary requirements for inbound and outbound shipments. They perform trailer inspections, which consists of checking the sanitary condition of trailers, confirming container seals, and performing visual inspections of products. All this information is then documented and filed. This process ensures the delivery of safe quality sugar.

Where does the sugar come from?Since the start of Sweet New England we have built and maintained strong relationships with our suppliers, most of which are international. All the sugar that we import is certified Non-GMO cane sugar from a variety of mills in North, Central, and South America.

How do I know which sugar to buy?Sugar is sold in a variety of different ways, all with unique characteristics of color, consistency, and granulation. Each type of imported sugar has its own range of applications, with some for general use and others for specific needs. How do you test sugar quality?Our suppliers provide quality certification documents with every type of sugar that is sent. The information that they provide is accurate and reliable. However, as our company grows, so do our resources. We will soon have our own on-site laboratory for product testing. From there, we will compare our data with the suppliers' data to ensure consistency, providing even more assurance that our sugar is safe and high quality. In addition, our plant is SQF certified, which requires substantial documentation to ensure reliability.
